In the third quarter of 2024, El Salvador's social networking app landscape showcased dynamic trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into the performance of the top five apps on a unified platform, comprising both iOS and Android users.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady trajectory with weekly revenue fluctuating slightly, peaking at around $16 in late September. Downloads began at approximately 25K in early July, experiencing a gradual decline to about 19.6K by the end of September. Meanwhile, weekly active users remained robust, hovering around 2.7M throughout the quarter.

Facebook saw a significant increase in revenue, starting at $540K in early July and reaching up to $944K by the end of September. Downloads showed a downward trend from 32.9K to 27.3K over the quarter. However, the app's weekly active users remained consistently strong, increasing slightly from 3.4M to 3.5M.

Threads did not generate any revenue during this period but witnessed an upward trend in downloads, beginning at around 10K and climbing to approximately 12.6K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users also increased from 96.3K to 121.1K, indicating growing engagement.

Messenger reported no revenue, with downloads decreasing from 25.5K to 16.9K. Active users showed a slight decline, from 631K to 614K over the same period.

Finally, Telegram Messenger experienced moderate revenue growth, starting at $320 and reaching $503 by the end of September. Downloads varied, peaking at 18.7K mid-quarter before settling at 11.8K. Weekly active users remained stable at around 240K to 246K.
